Kogoro, Ran, and Conan visit an observation deck during a hike, where they witness a man jump to his death. The victim is identified as Takaya Hirai. Conan determines the death is a murder staged as suicide. He tranquilizes Kogoro to solve the case, revealing the culprit is Eeichirou Kondou, Hirai’s co-worker. Kondou jumped first, landing on a tree, then pushed the unconscious Hirai off. Conan proves this by finding Hirai’s nest debris on the tree and Kondou’s boot prints. Kondou confesses that Hirai was blackmailing him after Kondou accidentally caused a co-worker’s death.
