Haibara explains to adults that Kid manipulated the boys into opening the center pillar by leaning on pedestals in seasonal order. She notes Nakamori requested this protection order, revealing him as Kid. Haibara proves no accomplice existed by finding cards on the boys' anoraks. Conan reveals Kid hid Kirin's horn in his own pocket to steal it as Nakamori. Kid shoots lights, creates a hole, and uses Genta as a plug to escape. Conan pursues outside, realizing Kid disguised as Genta. He re-enters the shrine, where Kid admits his goal was proving child disguise skills. Kid then disguises as an officer.
