Richard, Rachel, and Conan visit a Miyagi Prefecture inn run by Kathleen and Grayson Neighbors, meeting actress Adele Kaiser and her stunt double, Yvette Ainsworth. Rachel spots a Yukionna, and Adele gives them a bottle of whiskey before retiring. Yvette later disappears, leaving a suicide note, but authorities find Adele dead in the snow. Conan discovers footprints on a tree and a delivery doll, then tranquilizes Richard to reveal the truth. Adele was drugged during skiing, buried in snow, and died of hypothermia. Yvette impersonated Adele to stage a suicide, exploiting the location to play two roles. Evidence includes Adele’s missing fingerprints on the bottle. Yvette confesses, citing resentment over living in Adele’s shadow and having her hard work overlooked.
