After breaking his leg, Richard is hospitalized, prompting Conan and the Detective Boys to visit him. There, they meet Yoshio, Richard’s roommate, who worked at the bank during a 100 million yen heist. Conan deduces that Yoshio is being coerced by the criminals to kill their captured partner, with his daughter held hostage. He intervenes as Yoshio holds a gun, knocking out the criminals using a soccer ball. Meanwhile, the Detective Boys rush to rescue Yoshio’s daughter, who is being held on top of a building across from the hospital.
