Ep. 17: Marco and Ai's tragic romance unfolds amidst the collapsing tower and Yuno's violent confrontation.

A flashback reveals Marco and Ai, abandoned children who met in a commercial tower and grew up in Kamado's orphanage before falling in love. During the crisis, Yuki chooses Yuno's side while Marco and Ai attempt to escape the crumbling tower with Yuki's father using parachutes. Yuno pursues them to fight alone, but Yuki hides to assist her using predictions from his diary. Yuno loses the battle and has her phone confiscated, which proves to be a decoy used by Marco and Ai to distract them with false information. This allows Yuno to critically injure Ai. Kurou steals a parachute to flee but encounters his ex-wife Rea, who was alerted by Nishijima; he stabs her when she threatens to expose him. Trapped in the wreckage with a dying Ai, Marco tries to free her despite his own mortal wounds. With help from Yuki and Yuno, they clear the debris, and Marco and Ai die together as the tower collapses. Meanwhile, Nishijima fails to locate Kamado's Future Diary server. Yuki and Yuno escape via the second parachute, only to discover that Yuki's mother has died.
