Ep. 20: Balks connects Kamado's server to HOLON while Minene and Nishijima fight back against his plans.
Yuki trusts Yuno despite Aru's revelation. Balks links Kamado's server to HOLON, a supercomputer holding all citizen accounts, turning them into apprentices. Minene attacks Balks, but his diary reverses the situation. Nishijima, in love with Minene, destroys the supercomputer, though it is only one part of Balks' plan. Aru sends Hinata, Mao, and Kousaka to assist Minene and Nishijima in destroying the remaining HOLON parts. Minene discovers Balks' diary, the Watcher, can read other Future Diaries' predictions. Deus reveals Balks helped design the diaries to grant divine power. The group storms HOLON, overwriting predictions to confuse Balks. Balks uses his secretary's diary to capture Hinata, Mao, and Kousaka, injure Minene, and kill Nishijima. Yuki and Yuno save Minene, having used her as bait to reach Balks.
