Ep. 21: Yuki and Yuno confront Mayor Balks while Minene hunts him and Yuno frees prisoners to kill Kamado

Yuki and Yuno force Mayor Balks into a retina-locked vault, prompting Minene to hunt him while revealing her traumatic past. Yuno frees Yuki’s friends and attempts to kill Kamado but is stopped by Aru. Minene confronts Yuki but hesitates upon seeing his childhood self, allowing him to shoot her. She then destroys her diary to detonate a bomb against the vault, though the door survives. Yuno arrives, dismisses Yuki to destroy HOLON, and opens the vault to kill Balks. Yuki maintains a list of the deceased. Later, dark vortexes appear as Deus’ lifespan decays. At Aru’s house, Aru questions how an imposter Yuno opened the vault. In Deus’ realm, Murmur panics over the impending end, while Kamado and Aru ask Deus if his successor can restore the world.
