Lana rescues Conan using a lifeboat after the GunBoat boards the Barracuda and captures Dyce and his crew. The pair attempts to reach the shore, but the GunBoat destroys their lifeboat. Conan and Lana survive the explosion and reach a nearby island. There, they discover an old battlefield filled with tanks. Lana hears her grandfather through telepathy, prompting Conan and Lana to begin crossing the desert.
