Terit returns to Industria and receives a radio to notify Lepka when Lana meets her grandfather. Strange natural phenomena occur while Patch falls into the water and becomes trapped under the ship. Conan rescues Patch, revealing him to be Dr. Lao. Terit informs Industria of Dr. Lao's presence. The island begins to sink and the platform starts to float out to sea. Lao, Conan, and Lana escape on a small lifeboat.
