Ep. 9: Uroko warns Shioshishio adults of catastrophe while Tsumugu and Chisaki seek Ena restoration at sea.

Uroko gathers the adults of Shioshishio to reveal an impending catastrophe. Meanwhile, students prepare for a festival until Chisaki falls ill. Tsumugu takes her to the sea to restore her Ena, asking if she has given up on Hikari, after which she returns home. Kaname accompanies her to the village, where adults welcome them with blue lanterns. Manaka arrives home and learns that returning to the surface is now forbidden. The next day, Hikari notices his friends from Shioshishio are absent from school and returns to the village to investigate. Manaka explains the ban due to the impending calamity and expresses her desire to support him. Although Hikari knows she sees him only as a friend, he embraces her before a surprised Manaka shoves him away and he flees.
