Ep. 11: The Changing Times

Following Kaname’s confession, he and Chisaki attend school normally with their friends. As Shioshishio’s Ena thickens for hibernation, the children must frequently resupply water on the surface. Hikari and others resume eating to delay their sleep, fearing they will never see their friends again. Meanwhile, Akari and Itaru plan their marriage, while fishermen request Hikari’s help with the Ofunehiki ritual to appease the Sea God and end the cold. Iroko deems the effort futile, but Hikari insists on proceeding. With city assistance, preparations begin for a ritual coinciding with the hibernation start. Akari volunteers to replace the offering, promising to return and marry Itaru with his blessing. After the group agrees, Chisaki, inspired by Kaname, confesses her feelings for Hikari.
