Apr 12, 2003After a stray dog transforms into a monster, Kazuto Izuka is rescued by a girl wielding a baseball bat. He later identifies her as Narue Nanase, a classmate rumored to be an alien, despite skepticism from Hajime Yagi. With friend Masaki Maruo’s assistance, Kazuto tracks Narue down to return the bat and invites her for tea. During the visit, they discover her father, Tadashi Nanase, is imprisoned by a space ninja who previously appeared as the dog monster. Narue defeats the ninja using her bat and then asks Kazuto if he accepts her alien nature. She subsequently reveals her people’s starship fleet to him, confirming her extraterrestrial origins.

Kanaka accidentally shocks Narue with a stun gun, causing a high fever. Believing she is unloved, Kanaka is reassured by Kazuto that Narue eagerly awaited their meeting. While Kazuto and Narue build a sandcastle and Maruo and Yagi explore with exotic animals, Kanaka chases them on a mammoth toward a cave. After falling and breaking her device, the group is separated. When a bridge collapses, Narue falls into the water, prompting Kazuto to jump in after her. Both are swept down a waterfall but are rescued by Bathyscaphe, who restores normalcy. Bathyscaphe confiscates Kanaka’s device, revealing that their entire adventure was part of a virtual reality game.

Fifteen years ago, Tadashi worked as a cultural investigator for the Galaxy Federation. Messa arrived to cancel his assignment and order his return to Nihon. Terrified, Tadashi fell into a river and washed ashore near Narumi’s home. She cared for him, and they fell in love. Tadashi explained his mission to study peaceful coexistence among Earth’s cultures, distinct from Nihon. Messa tracked him down, but Narumi intervened and drove Tadashi away. Messa’s android subordinates, Rei Otonashi and Ran Tendo, failed to stop them in the forest. Messa ultimately allowed Tadashi to remain on Earth with Narumi, even after her death.

Haruna recalls landing at nightfall, hiding her true form, and falling in love with Akio Shimada, the cafe manager. A tsunami strikes, prompting Haruna to reveal herself and calm the waves. Bathyscaphe rescues Kazuto from drowning. Akio accepts Haruna’s true nature and wishes to stay with her. Rin erases bystanders' memories of the event and no longer needs to track Haruna for military service. Narue is upset about losing her seashells, amusing the others.

Rin intercepts three attackers, enabling the pair to flee into the forest while explaining that a starship forced through a stargate to target them. Kanaka, Bathyscaphe, and Tadashi discover the shield at the festival. Rin provides versatile weapons to Kazuto and Narue as the ninjas catch up. Bathyscaphe captures one ninja, while Rei and Ran arrive for the others. Ran, infected with a berserker virus, betrays the group and attacks Narue. Rin shoots Rei, who shielded Narue, then shocks Ran to stop the betrayal. Messa appears to verify Kazuto’s commitment to Narue before leaving. The shield lifts, and fireworks begin.
