During combat with Sasuke, Jugo reflects on his past with Kimimaro. Upon learning that Kimimaro died for his sake, Jugo decides to accompany them, believing Kimimaro’s spirit resides within Sasuke. Jugo then informs his new teammates that his objective is to kill Itachi Uchiha of the Akatsuki. In response, Sasuke designates their group as Hebi. Simultaneously, Naruto resolves to pursue Itachi, hoping to locate Sasuke. This narrative serves as the sixth installment of the twelve-part Itachi Pursuit Mission arc, detailing the formation of the team and the diverging paths of the main characters as they seek the same target.
