Naruto and his companions encounter difficulties while attempting to locate the Secret Technique and surpass the Fourth Hokage's record. Naruto's rash behavior causes trouble for the team, leading to an attack by Rain Ninja. Unbeknownst to them, Sasuke intervenes to save the group. They eventually discover a scroll containing the message that there is no shortcut in the ninja way, which becomes Naruto's personal motto. The narrative concludes as the final rounds of the Chūnin Exam are scheduled to begin the following day.
