Sasuke attempts to assassinate Danzo via genjutsu but is paralyzed by a curse mark. Memories of Itachi allow him to cancel the effect and evolve his Susano'o. Danzo’s arm, infused with Hashirama Senju’s cells by Orochimaru, enables the use of Izanagi, a forbidden technique altering reality to avoid death. Tobi identifies this ability, while Karin deduces the cost: each activation permanently closes a Sharingan on Danzo’s arm within 60 seconds. The conflict shifts into a battle of stamina, with Sasuke revealing he knows Danzo has limited Sharingan remaining for further uses of the jutsu. This confrontation occurs during the Five Kage Summit arc.
