She uses the resulting conflict as a distraction to knock out her companions, proceeding to hunt Sasuke alone while reflecting on her past failures to understand his transformation. Meanwhile, after Danzo's sealing jutsu concludes, Tobi retrieves the corpse to extract Shisui's Sharingan and advises Sasuke to eliminate Karin, who poses a potential liability. Injured and recalling their first meeting in the Forest of Death during the Chunin Exams, Karin faces death at Sasuke's hands until Sakura arrives. Sakura claims to have abandoned the Leaf Village to join him, causing Sasuke to spare Karin.
