Konan attacks Tobi with six hundred billion paper bombs to exploit his teleportation limits, but he survives by using Izanagi at the cost of his left eye. Tobi explains that the Rinnegan technique resembles the Senju and Uchiha clans, who are descendants of the Sage of Six Paths. Declaring himself Madara Uchiha, the Second Sage who assimilated Hashirama's cells, he defeats Konan and mocks her faith in Naruto. Using his remaining Sharingan, Tobi forces her to reveal the location of Nagato and Yahiko's tomb before killing her. After retrieving Nagato's corpse, Tobi returns to the Akatsuki base, repairs his body, and changes attire. Zetsu then presents Kisame's intelligence regarding the jinchurikis' locations.
