After Guy defeats him, Yamato restrains Kisame while Aoba extracts memories revealing Yagura Karatachi is controlled by Tobi. Aoba witnesses Kisame killing a cipher team and his superior to join the Seven Swordsmen. Before seeing Tobi’s face, Kisame bites his tongue, breaks free, and creates a water dome. Motivated by Tobi’s promise of a world without lies and Itachi’s teachings on self-worth, Kisame allows his shark summon to devour him. Guy acknowledges Kisame’s resolve. However, opening the scroll triggers a trap, trapping the group in water prisons while summoned shark spirits take the scroll away.
