Jormungand fights bandits and advises a soldier to care for his pregnant wife. Amit crafts luck charms for the soldier and Sariphi, but feels depressed after overhearing the soldier reject marriage. Sariphi encourages Amit, giving him a charm and a promise to survive. The court travels to Sarbul for King Tet IV and Queen Calra’s newborn son, Calcara. Calra refuses human contact with her child. During a feast, Leonhart comforts Sariphi, who feels Calra’s gaze mirrors her adoptive parents’ emptiness. At the blessing ceremony, Calra pinches Calcara to make him cry, delaying the ritual. Anubis views this as a test for Sariphi. The ceremony is postponed until tomorrow. Meanwhile, Princess Tetra offers Sariphi a tour of the palace.
