Ep. 9: Anubis's Past Revealed as He Tests Sariphi's Worthiness
Anubis attempts to assassinate Sariphi in a library but is knocked unconscious by falling books. He experiences a flashback to his childhood as Sirius, where the previous Anubis sacrificed himself to save the king. Assigned to the Prince, Sirius observed his strange behavior until assassins kidnapped them. The Prince shielded Sirius from death, declaring that rulers protect their people, then defeated the attackers with magic. After recovering, Sirius adopted the name Anubis and pledged loyalty to Leonhart. He awakens to find Sariphi caring for him. Despite his anger and refusal to accept her, she remains calm and mentions Leonhart's concern. Consequently, Anubis resolves to seriously test Sariphi to determine if she is truly worthy of the king.
