During Parents Day at Asahigaoka Branch School, Yukiko Koshigaya, the mother of Natsumi, Komari, and Suguru, causes anxiety for both Natsumi and Kazuho. Meanwhile, Renge and Shiori, the daughter of the resident police officer from episode 4, engage in a ball game that evolves into a philosophical debate. Natsumi assists Renge in setting up a fish tank for Salt, a crab the younger girl intends to keep until the weather warms up. Appreciative of Natsumi’s help with her little sister, Kazuho invites her to dinner, but the planned meal comes as a shock to Renge.
