Rikuo employs the Matoi technique alongside Itaku to vanquish Tsuchigumo, who departs to recover strength for a future confrontation with Nue. At Nuegaike Pond, Hagoromo Gitsune prepares to give birth to Nue. Nurarihyon arrives despite his weakened state to question her regarding his son's murder. Distracted by his environment, he becomes surrounded by foes. Karasu Tengu, who trailed Nurarihyon, attempts a rescue but both are blinded by Yosuzume. Nurarihyon is subsequently stabbed by the Maō's Hammer, and he identifies the assailant as Minagoroshi Jizo. Meanwhile, Kidomaru alerts the Kyoto yōkai that Hagoromo Gitsune is in labor. Concurrently, Rikuo and his Night Parade advance toward the gates of Nijo Castle.
