Daisaku Hoshimura, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, visits President Ohara at Touzai News to request an invitation to the Gourmet Club for Chinese Vice Chairman Chen Yong Liong. Ohara pressures Yamaoka to contact his friend Tōyama, but Kaibara refuses to serve politicians. Yamaoka then approaches Mr Shu, an old friend of Chen, to invite Kaibara to a special yum cha dinner. Kaibara accepts and enjoys the meal, only to discover the chef is Vice Chairman Chen. He agrees to invite Chen to the Gourmet Club, achieving a diplomatic success, though he suspects Yamaoka orchestrated the arrangement.
