Ep. 8: Reiji Azuma Awakens and Chooses to Protect Ein Over Joining Claudia

Claudia dispatches Ein to eliminate Inferno henchmen while summoning Zwei to her mansion. She reveals his true identity as Reiji Azuma and provides his Japanese passport, triggering a flood of memories that fully restore his original personality. Shocked by Zwei’s past actions, Reiji considers Claudia’s offer to join her and return to Japan. After contacting his family, he realizes he cannot resume his previous life due to his violent history and a duty to protect Ein. He finds Ein wounded by Lizzie and, despite Claudia’s threat to kill him if he helps, Reiji removes the bullet and secretly evacuates her. This decision defies Claudia’s plan to take over Inferno and eliminate the Scythe Master, setting the stage for their shared destiny.
