Battles between Ash and Chairman Rose, Oleana and Goh, and Leon and Eternatus proceed. Riolu evolves into Lucario, and Raboot evolves into Cinderace during the conflict. Rose and Oleana are defeated. Leon fails to capture Eternatus, which then assumes its Eternamax form, injuring Leon. Ash and Goh wield the Sword and Shield to fight Eternamax Eternatus, summoning Zacian and Zamazenta to assist. They use a Poké Ball to seal Eternatus, ending the Darkest Day threat. The heroes return the Sword and Shield to the Slumbering Forest. Sonia becomes a Pokémon Professor.
