The Curator of the Pewter Museum of Science asks Ash, Goh, and Chloe to assist with fossil investigations in the Galar region. Upon arrival, they meet researchers Bray Zenn and Cara Liss. The team excavates fossils, expecting to restore them into Arctovish and Dracozolt. However, the restoration process yields Dracovish and Arctozolt instead. After completing their research on these new Pokémon, Bray Zenn and Cara Liss grant Ash and Goh permission to keep them. Ash captures Dracovish, while Goh captures Arctozolt.
