During their return journey to the mainland, Ash encounters a Wartortle seeking assistance for its king, Blastoise, who rules a small island but refuses to wake from a deep slumber. Squirtle assumes his former role as leader of the Squirtle Squad to resolve the mystery. The investigation reveals that Jigglypuff is trapped within one of Blastoise's blasters. The Pokémon is continuously singing a lullaby, which has induced the prolonged sleep in the ruler. The group must address this situation to restore normalcy to the island and allow Blastoise to awaken.
