TERRA dispatches Elvy to capture Ayato and Quon and retrieve the RahXephon, their primary defense against the Mulian invasion. Elvy and Haruka attempt interception in the Vermilion but fail when a Dolem attacks, allowing the targets to escape. The Vermilion subsequently tracks the RahXephon through Tokyo Jupiter. Meanwhile, Ayato exhibits amnesia and Quon remains comatose at the hospital until Reika reveals the truth. During a drive home, Ayato meets Hiroko and Mamoru. Although Ayato has been with the TERRA Organization for six months, he has only been absent from Tokyo Jupiter for a single month.
