Ep. 14: Corporate takeover of Quon and Ayato's discovery of his Mulian heritage
Aired on May 22, 2002

14
Corporate interests seize control of Quon, prompting Helena von Bähbem to uncover details about its awakening beyond Itsuki's knowledge. Futagami reveals to Haruka that Rikudo had a daughter who left Tokyo at seventeen and changed her name to Kamina. A new Terra weapon, The Vermillion, arrives for Elvy, but Souichi forbids its combat use, sparking an argument Ayato overhears, leading him to discover he is Mulian. When Dolems approach, the Vermillion launches, followed by the RahXephon. Trapped in a masked sky, Ayato is startled when Reika controls the RahXephon independently, shooting Elvy to shatter the barrier. Elvy defeats the Dolems alone, leaving Ayato frustrated by his perceived obsolescence in battle.
