Kenshin discovers that Cho has abducted Iori to secure the final masterpiece of Shakku. Facing a dilemma between his vow of non-lethal combat and the need to rescue the infant, Kenshin draws a sword provided to him. This weapon turns out to be the perfected reverse blade sword, which merely stuns Cho rather than killing him. With the immediate threat neutralized, Kenshin departs to locate his master, Seijuro Hiko. His goal is to learn the ultimate technique of the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryuu battoujutsu, ensuring he can protect others without breaking his promise to never take a life.
