Kenshin and Sanosuke battle Zan and Ren as Baku, the third Sanada Ninja elite, remains hidden. Sanosuke and Kaoru join forces to defeat Zan. Baku manipulates Kenshin’s senses, leaving him open to Ren’s strikes. Kenshin overcomes this by attacking the bats, allowing him to defeat both Ren and Baku. Meanwhile, Misanagi and the Black Knights locate the divine elixir within a vast garden deep inside the cave. Melders confesses he planned to betray Misanagi from the beginning, which allowed Lentz to attack her. Schneider steps in to protect Misanagi but suffers severe injuries from Melders’ assault.
