Bandits who were delighted by Ronja's birth prioritize her upbringing over robbing travelers. Borkas and his clan similarly reduce their attacks on passersby. Years later, Mattis and Lovis determine that Ronja is old enough to explore the forest alone. They grant her permission to leave the castle walls for the first time. Before she departs, she receives warnings about potential dangers, including the Gray Dwarfs. Ronja then sets out on her day trip into the woods, marking a significant milestone in her life as she navigates the wild environment with caution and parental guidance.
