General Damon orders the Gallian Militia to the Barious Desert to diminish their reputation relative to the Regular Army, despite Captain Varrot's objections. Welkin and Faldio discuss the Darcsen Calamity before the group travels to the Valkyrur Ruins. Their jeep suffers mechanical failure, leaving Isara and Ramal behind for repairs while Welkin, Faldio, and Alicia proceed on foot. Elsewhere, Selvaria and Maximilian analyze Old Northern Script inscriptions, with Selvaria's blood activating a concealed gate. This action brings Selvaria and Maximilian into direct confrontation with Welkin, Alicia, and Faldio within the ruins.
