Shiki wakes up in Arcueid's apartment, where she clarifies the distinction between True Ancestors and Dead Apostles, noting her duty to eliminate the latter. She then examines Shiki's ability, identifying it as the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, which allows him to perceive and erase the destined destruction of objects. Arcueid devises a plan to use herself as bait to lure Nrvnqsr, trusting Shiki to defeat him upon his arrival. When Nrvnqsr arrives, Shiki launches an attack but is swiftly repelled. However, Nrvnqsr's arrogance creates an opening, enabling Shiki to bypass his defenses and kill him. As Shiki collapses from exhaustion, Arcueid kisses his forehead, expressing her gratitude for his assistance in resolving the situation.
