Shiki meets Arcueid to begin assisting her in hunting vampires, agreeing on a schedule with help from the maid Hisui. Arcueid explains her pursuit of Roa, a vampire who reincarnates by transferring his soul to new hosts after death. The pair encounters two humans controlled by Roa, which Arcueid eliminates swiftly. The following day, Ciel meets Shiki at her tea room and advises him to be cautious of Arcueid. That evening, Arcueid takes Shiki to dinner but departs abruptly upon noticing his blood.
