Squid Girl falls ill with a fever and rests in bed, mistakenly believing she has a rare squid disease that drives her to crave shrimp. Eiko attempts to prevent her from eating shrimp until she recovers. Meanwhile, the group investigates the purpose of the fins on Squid Girl's hat. Later, Squid Girl constructs an unusual sand castle, which is ridiculed by Takeru's friend. The friend's father then arrives and attempts to build a superior sand castle. Finally, while shopping in town with Eiko, Squid Girl becomes captivated by umbrellas.
