Oct 5, 2010Squid Girl arrives at a beachside diner to declare an invasion of Earth due to ocean pollution, but her small size causes staff to mistake her for a waitress. After accidentally damaging the establishment while swatting a mosquito, manager Eiko Aizawa forces her to work off the debt. Her brother Takeru Aizawa tries to bond with her by pretending to be a squid-person. During a slow rainy day, Squid Girl attempts to capture the siblings to seize control of the stand, but is subdued by the eldest sister, Chizuru Aizawa. As punishment, she must use her ink to prepare squid ink spaghetti, a dish that unexpectedly becomes a popular success among the customers.

During an exploration of a nearby beach, Squid Girl and Eiko encounter a woman wearing a mechanized Squid Girl kigurumi head created by the owner of a rival beach shack. This owner desires the real Squid Girl and organizes a series of contests to determine which version is superior, pitting the two against each other in a competition.

She takes the principal hostage and broadcasts invasion plans over the PA system until Eiko intervenes. Additionally, a narrative unfolds where Eiko raises a miniature Squid Girl as a pet, living with her until Eiko passes away from old age. This entire sequence is revealed to be a dream experienced by Sanae, who feels envious of not being part of that peaceful scenario.
