Ep. 19: Kazane seeks revenge while Masahiro investigates a curse affecting the emperor and Akiko.

Following a glimpse into Kazane’s past, Masahiro and Mokkun depart while others in the dorms, including Toshitsugu, fall ill. That night, Kazane enters the temple where Ryuusai urges her to open the underworld door for revenge against Seimei. Masahiro wakes from a nightmare and learns Mokkun prefers his mononoke form like a pet. The next day, Masahiro detects an evil spirit and joins Seimei’s three Shinsho to investigate. They encounter a demon and Kazane, prompting Rikugo to pursue her, but the demon escapes and Ryuusai appears before the Shinsho. Meanwhile, the emperor becomes cursed, Akiko is affected, and a mysterious man attempts to seize the throne.
