After surviving a swamp, the group squeezes through a rock crack into a cave leading to a second hidden city Tao associates with the Serpent God. Zia is captured by the Doctor and Marinche, who compel Tao to translate inscriptions on a jaguar statue. The text reveals how to reflect sunlight on the statue to open a passage to a room with an idol holding a second manuscript. The greedy Doctor triggers a pit trap while approaching the idol, and Tao pushes Marinche in after him. Tao reads the manuscript and discovers a third city lies beyond a forest of statues. The episode includes a mini-documentary about Tikal.
