Mendoza navigates the Esperanza through the dangerous Straits of Magellan. Esteban overhears Gaspard and Gomez planning to eliminate Mendoza after they exit the straits. Upon reaching the Pacific Ocean, Gaspard challenges Mendoza to a duel. However, a typhoon strikes the ship. Captain Perez begs Mendoza to save the vessel instead of fighting. The episode includes a mini-documentary about the Straits of Magellan.
