Ep. 8: Sawa Faces Rejection and Finds Strength Through Friendship

After a hospital checkup, Sawa’s father orders her to quit horseback archery. She confesses to Shiho that she skipped meals to apply to a riding school but was rejected due to her weight and height. This experience leaves her emotionally fragile. When the choir club uses Wien’s house because practice rooms are occupied, Sawa shares her struggles and reacts harshly to Wakana’s advice to step back. The following day, Wakana’s explanation of singing with others reminds Naoko of Mahiru, prompting Naoko to have the club participate in a committee meeting to demonstrate their growth. While friends encourage Sawa, she overhears her father pleading with the riding school for her acceptance. Bolstered by her friends, Sawa rides her horse to join them at the meeting.
