Jul 1, 2012On a school day, Tomoko Takahashi receives flowers before leaving on maternity leave. Atsuhiro "Wien" Maeda transfers in and is shown around by Taichi Tanaka. Konatsu Miyamoto leaves the choir club because she cannot sing and wants to start a new one requiring five members. She convinces her best friend Sawa Okita to join and forces her brother to apply. Konatsu then tries to persuade her friend Wakana Sakai, who refuses due to personal reasons. While Konatsu practices singing in town, her voice draws Wakana, Sawa, Taichi, and Wien to the same location.

The trio recruits sufficient members to present their proposal to Principal Tayoru Ikezaki, who approves the club and agrees to serve as adviser upon learning of Wakana’s involvement. Konatsu and Wakana select a song reminiscent of her mother’s lullabies, though Vice-Principal Naoko Takakura initially objects. When Tayoru disappears due to a bicycle accident, Konatsu sends Wakana ahead while she waits. The group reaches the theater with Tomoko, but other members remain stuck in traffic. Undeterred, Konatsu and Sawa perform with Wakana on piano, successfully completing the rehearsal. Consequently, Naoko assumes the advisory role while Tayoru recovers from his injuries.

Afterward, Wien receives a postcard from Jan, while Sawa leaves for an equestrian school abroad, upsetting Taichi who had feelings for her. Wakana and Naoko later reminisce about Mahiru, with Wakana asking Naoko to teach her more music. Eventually, everyone graduates and moves toward their futures.
