Marie recognizes that Lloyd is permitted to battle a Demon Lord. Lloyd discovers Allan hiding from Abbadon's locust monsters and urges him to fight like a soldier. Alka destroys the creatures after they ruin her romantic intentions for Lloyd. Chrome, Riho, and Selen engage Merthohan, who transforms into a locust hybrid. Lloyd arrives, appeals to Merthohan's desire to be a true soldier, and defeats him with a slap. Marie requests Lloyd to clean the dirt from the king's body. He complies, unaware that his cleansing rune is powerful enough to purge Abbadon from the king. The following day, Lloyd's brother Shōma arrives but vanishes before Alka can see him. Chrome rejoins the army while Merthohan is exiled to Kunlun. With the king cured, Marie chooses to remain a witch. Allan, grateful for Lloyd's help, declares him his master and secures his admission to the academy. Alka clashes with Selen over Lloyd and realizes her belt is a powerful protective relic missing from Kunlun for years. Annoyed with everyone, Marie banishes Alka back to Kunlun through her crystal and sends Lloyd and his friends to school.
