Jeanne and Vanitas journey to Gévaudan castle to eliminate the Beast. Inside, Jean-Jacques transfers his blood to Noé, allowing the vampire to witness Jean-Jacques’s pact with Charlatan to protect Chloé. Noé learns that Jean-Jacques is the Beast, while Chloé is a vampire who accepted a curse. After recovering, Vanitas reunites with Noé to share findings, suspecting the Church sanctioned the Beast to instill fear of vampires. They encounter Astolfo, and Noé agrees to care for him while Vanitas searches for Chloé and a grimoire. Vanitas finds Chloé activating the Alternate Engine, which forces Naenia into a physical form, allowing Chloé to defeat her and the associated evil.
