Ep. 32: Oscar and Andre seek Fersen while Alain's sister dies by suicide
Alain defeats Oscar in a duel, earning her permanent respect after she secures a pardon for a rifle pawn. Oscar and Andre travel to Paris to thank General Bouille but face an attack by peasants hostile to her noble status. Colonel Fersen intervenes to save Oscar but fails to locate Andre. In desperation, Oscar begs Fersen to save her Andre, a phrase that shocks her and clarifies that she no longer loves him. Fersen successfully distracts the mob to protect Andre. Meanwhile, Alain fails to return from leave. Oscar and Andre visit his home to deliver his pay and discover the rotting corpse of his sister on his bed. She had committed suicide after her fiancé, a poor noble, abandoned her for a wealthy woman. The trauma leaves Alain unable to return to the French Guard, while the populace begins demanding the Etats-Generaux.
