During a Kyoto trip, Hachiman meets Yumiko Miura, who reveals Hina has rejected all suitors. The Soubu students arrive in Arashiyama, where Hayato expresses fear that Kakeru’s confession will disrupt their group’s integrity. He asks Hachiman to intervene. Later, Hachiman disrupts the confession by faking his own feelings for Hina. She rejects him, stating she wants to remain single, and leaves. Kakeru thanks Hachiman for avoiding public embarrassment. However, Yukino criticizes his methods, and Yui confronts him for hurting those who care about him. The next day, Hina thanks Hachiman for preserving the group’s status quo as requested.
