Ep. 23: Jody returns to Toronto while Jigoro attempts to cheer her before being ejected from the plane.
Jody returns to Toronto, prompting Matsuda to again label Yawara as his girlfriend. Jigoro surprises Jody on the plane before takeoff with a "Certain Victory" banner to support her upcoming match against the Russians, but is thrown off the aircraft. At the airport, Yawara and Matsuda encounter Sayaka and Shinnosuke, leading to boasts about Yawara’s match with Jody and Sayaka’s global training. After overhearing this, Jigoro informs Sayaka she may challenge Yawara at any of 10 tournaments in the next 4 months to prepare for a World Tournament. Yawara resolves to study for her college exam and train simultaneously, resulting in exhausting all-nighters. As tournaments proceed, Yawara begins sleepwalking, worrying Matsuda, who has been secretly keeping vigil by the Inokuma residence. Meanwhile, Yawara keeps Shinnosuke’s picture in her drawer, while Shinnosuke continues watching her matches despite fooling around with other women.
