Tsurukame's Frankfurt branch sends negative news regarding the World Cup, noting that Yawara is struggling at the bottom of her game. She fails to secure ippon victories against her next two opponents, relying instead on sluggish point wins. In contrast, Fujiko improves significantly, easily achieving ippon victories against her second and third opponents. Canada's Adams, along with Russia's Teleshikova and Khrushchev, remain sharp and competitive. Meanwhile, Matsuda mistakenly informs a taxi driver that he is traveling to the judo championship. The driver, a fan of Yawara who believes Matsuda is her fiancé, accelerates recklessly toward Belgrade. This dangerous driving puts their lives at risk before they can reach their destination.
