Hako no Naka

Douno is wrongfully imprisoned for an alleged crime involving a woman on a train. While in a shared cell with other inmates, he grows increasingly wary of those around him. His skepticism is challenged when Kitagawa, a fellow prisoner serving time for murder, shows him genuine care and kindness. This experience marks the first time Kitagawa has felt love. The collection includes the original story, "In the Box," and a follow-up, "Out of the Cage," which continues their lives after they are released from prison.
