Tengoku no Monban

A traveler named Minami is shoved off a boat by a woman he just met and ends up on an island. There, he meets a young man named Yuunagi, who declares that Minami has passed a test and must now work as his manservant. Yuunagi is the guardian of the island, and Minami begins working there alongside various beastfolk, some resembling part-dog or part-bird. One night, Minami sees Yuunagi bathing in the sea, and Yuunagi explains it is a ritual for welcoming "guests." The meaning of "guest" and the island’s true purpose remain unclear. Minami is left wondering about these mysteries and what his role truly is.
